TODAY’S READERS ARE TOMORROW’S LEADERS! The Huntington Beach Concours has not only given automotive enthusiasts of all types another opportunity to engage in their favorite pastime, it has been a constant fund raiser for the Children’s Resource Center wing at the Huntington Beach Public Library. The Huntington Beach Concours d’ Elegance, with all non- paid volunteers has, since its founding in 1985, raised over $900,000 in support of the infrastructure of the library, which includes learning services, computers, books and other miscellaneous items in support of all children whether normal, gifted or physically challenged.
The Children’s Resource Center is ranked one of top children’s libraries in the State of California. Proceeds from the Huntington Beach Concours event support a constantly expanding and upgraded book, periodical, resource collection, children’s theater, study labs and specially trained staff to help children.
The HB Concours will continue staging the 2-day event scheduled for Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th, 2016. This year we celebrate our 31st Anniversary!! The weekend will feature a Rod & Custom Show with a salute to Donut Derelicts on Saturday, June 4th, with Fireball Tim Lawrence as Grand Marshall who will be showcasing his new children’s book “Fireball Tim’s Big Book of Wacky Rides”. The Concours Event on Sunday, June 5th, features automotive marques; Cars from Cadillac (domestic) and BMW automobiles – All Years (Import), and Norton Motorcycles and Yamaha Motorcycles. Dave Kunz, KABC-TV’s Automotive Specialist, will return as this year’s Grand Marshall.
This family event will conduct its 10th annual student auto art contest, “Imagination Takes to the Road” and welcomes for your enjoyment, Aprile Deanne Entertainment, Vocalist/DJ on Saturday and Sunday. There will be good food, and interesting vendors, also free ice cream, face painting, balloon art, and balloons for the kids!!!!
